Reid and Michael Forrester share a deep love and passion for the wellness wisdom of the ages and believe that so many of today’s health challenges are related to a disconnection from the body, Nature’s medicines, and Nature's rhythms ... and the related build-up of stress and toxicity in the body. It is their mission to serve and empower those striving toward health, wellness, and wholeness by supporting clients with ancient, time-tested teachings and practices.

As evidenced by her courses of study and practice, Reid Forrester, like her husband Michael, has a strong interest and deep respect for traditional and preventative healing modalities tested across the ages. For Reid, teaching yoga has been a progressive fulfillment of self which will benefit others - it well compliments her professional endeavors and also her personal growth and wellness. A student and practitioner in the field of yoga and wellness since 1999, Reid began teaching Prenatal Yoga at  Kashi Atlanta in 2004.

As a massage therapist, Reid has trained with Dr. Rosita Arvigo, a naprapathic doctor who has lived and studied in Belize for more than 35 years and now brings ancient Maya Abdominal Therapy™ healing methods to the U.S. This therapeutic massage training has provided extensive understanding of female reproductive anatomy and highlights the importance of optimal positioning of the uterus and pelvic bowl for fertility and birth.

Reid works with massage clients, teaches yoga, and offers one-on-one sessions in Yoga for Reproductive Health, Prenatal Yoga, and Partner Yoga for Childbirth. Although catering mostly to women who plan to conceive or are pregnant, she has aspirations towards extending her teachings to both men and women with a wide variety of reproductive and digestive challenges. Ayurveda, a 5,000-year-old time-tested working medical model, is her newest expansion - and this coming year ushers in her advanced study of this sister science to yoga. It is through these studies that she hopes to further empower each client and yoga student to find their own balance between strength and flexibility, through cleansing the body and re-aligning with nature’s rhythms.

Reid is a yoga instructor and a licensed massage therapist who specializes in Ayurvedic Massage, Pregnancy Massage and Maya Abdominal Therapy. Her office is located at Kashi Atlanta.

                Michael Forrester

                Picture
A Georgia-born resident and avid lover and student of Nature, Michael Forrester has studied Herbalism, health, healing, and Energy Medicine since 1998. A traditional naturopath, Michael’s studies and interests naturally have led him to the healing path of Ayurveda - sister science to yoga - which helps individuals cleanse and detoxify their bodies, come back into balance, and re-align themselves with nature’s rhythms.

Michael has taught classical yoga/meditation since the beginning of 2004 and is now a senior teacher at Kashi Atlanta where he has helped over 150 yogis to become certified yoga instructors in their Yoga Teacher Training Program.
Also an accomplished teacher of Reiki, Michael has initiated over 200 students in Reiki – 50 of whom are now Reiki Masters themselves using Chakra Therapy hand-in-hand with their practice of Reiki.  His training includes a Doctorate in Naturopathy, certifications in Western Herbalism, Ayurvedic Lifestyle Counseling, and Usui Shiho Reiki.   He has completed apprenticeships in native plant lore,  primary/primative skills survival, and studies with a Lakota Medicine Woman for three years.   He has been active in the American Herbalist's Guild Georgia sub-chapter since 2001 as either President or a Board Member and attends the Medicines from the Earth symposium annually along with a host of other conferences.   Like all good teachers his education continues and he is continually looking for ways to serve better.

Michael offers Ayurvedic services and currently teaches a weekly Yoga and the Chakras class at Kashi Atlanta. His office is located at Kashi Atlanta.
